Endemic across much of South East Asia, the Tuk Tuk is a simple means of transport that whisks many a traveler around on short trips for more than a fair price. Everyone welcomes new year with a smile on his face and open arms but traveling to an altogether new place for a New year celebration is a great way to ring in the New Year.

Everyone wants to welcome New year in a splendid and grand manner. Hence, a new year party is often inevitably weighted with expectations that are pretty hard to meet. Back in time with Cebu City’s Magellan’s Cross…

Backpacking in Cebu City can lead you back to the important history of the Philippines, particularly in the Spanish era, in which the Philippines has been colonized for almost 377 years.

In the Philippines history, Fernando de Magallanes also known as Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer, made a great discovery in his time by proving that the world in round, thus, along with this discovery is the discovery of the Philippines.

The Magellan’s Cross, situated at a small chapel located in front of the Cebu City Hall along Magallanes Street, became a famous landmark of Cebu City, as it was said that the cross was planted by Ferdinand Magellan when he arrived in Cebu in the year 1521. [...]

As part of my 2-week-backpacking challenge, I decided to try out couchsurfing. This is really interesting as it works well with backpackers on a shoestring budget, thus, couchsurfing gives you the opportunity to save from having to spend for your accommodation. And I did it! A couple of days ago, I was contemplating on going away for a while and breathe… figured I wanted to try something different. So I decided to go backpacking for 2 weeks without planning where to go and just take on the road to wherever.

I am actually intrigued on how many places I can go in 2 weeks, excited to assess how am I keeping up with the challenge. Knowing that I would be on the road for a little while, I have tomake sure that I am equipped with the basic travel gears and gadgets.
